The Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) terrorist killed in the Kulgam encounter on January 12 has been identified as Babar, a Pakistani national active in Shopian and Kulgam since 2018, informed Inspector General of Police (IGP) Vijay Kumar on January 13, reports Daily Excelsior. An AK rifle, a pistol, and two grenades recovered from the terrorist, the IGP further said.
Meanwhile, two Army soldiers were killed in suspected "accidental fire" in a forward location in the Hanjan Wali area along the Line of Control (LoC) in Rajouri District on January 13, reports Greater Kashmir. The deceased were identified as Sepoy Sarabjeet Singh and Sepoy Navraj Singh.
