An exchange of fire took place between Security Forces (SFs) and Communist Party of India-Maoist (CPI-Maoist) cadres during a combing operation in Chhatardanda Reserve Forests near Kadalipali village under Tureikela Police Station limits in Bolangir District of Odisha on May 11, reports Pragativadi. Acting on a tip-off about the presence of Maoists of ‘Bargarh-Bolangir-Mahasamund (BBM) division’ in the area, a joint combing operation by the District Voluntary Force (DVF) and Special Operations Group (SOG) was launched in which Police seized three knives, torch lights, shoes and others items used by the Maoists from the spot, Bolangir, Superintendent of Police (SP), Nitin Kusalkar said, adds Sambad.
