Chief of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) on July 20 denied the possibility of militant attack on Eid-ul-Azha, reports Dhaka Tribune. During a press briefing on law and order ahead of the Eid festival, DMP Commissioner Mohamad Shafiqul Islam claimed that there is no chance of a militant attack during the Eid-ul-Azha, though the militants have gained some strength lately. The DMP Chief said that the Police’s Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crimes (CTTC), the Anti-Terrorism Unit (ATU) and Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) were working alongside the detectives to dismantle the militant groups.
