The Border Security Force (BSF) personnel arrested one Pakistani national from near Chanaa Post at Gurdaspur sector in Gurdaspur District of Punjab on February 11, reports ANI. The Station House Officer (SHO) of Ramdas Police Station, Mantej Singh said, "BSF has handed him over to the Police. He crossed the border and entered India. He will be interrogated after the case is registered." The SHO further added that nothing suspicious has been recovered from his possession and the man has identified himself as Rasul Khan, a resident of Narowal District of Pakistan.
Meanwhile, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) on February 10, told a special NIA court that Pakistan-based terrorist outfit, Khalistan Liberation Force (KLF) ‘chief’ has been instrumental in running cross-border narco-terrorism in India, reports The Times of India. The NIA revealed this in the Court while seeking Police custody of three accused — Nirmal Singh, Satpal Singh and Hiralal, arrested in connection with the Amritsar heroine recovery case of 2019. Presenting its case for Police remand, the NIA told the Court that during the investigation, role of Harmeet Singh alias PHD, Pakistan-based chief of KLF, a proscribed terrorist organisation, has emerged in running a cross-border narco-terror network through drug smugglers, militant elements and hawala operatives based in Punjab and the other States of India. Harmeet Singh had been killed in Pakistan on January 27, 2019, the agency said.
