East have jointly given a call to boycott the Republic Day (January
26) and to observe a general strike.
In a joint statement, CorCom,
an umbrella organization of Manipur-based militant groups, ULFA-I,

region to boycott the Republic Day to fight together against the

The BSF handed over to the BGB a list of 66 terror
camps in Bangladesh of militants operating in India's Northeast.
Camps of HNLC, ULFA, NDFB, PLA and a few other groups were operating

Sudhir Kumar Srivastava said, "The number of these camps has decreased."
Some of the camps had now been shifted towards Myanmar due to

ULFA-I 'commander in chief' Paresh Barua has expressed
his gratitude to NSCN-K, CorCom of Manipur, KLO, NDFB and other
"brotherly organizations" for their cooperation and help extended
to the ULFA over the years.On the occasion of its 'army day,'
(March 16) the ULFA 'commander-in-chief' has called upon senior
leaders of the outfit "not to encourage in negative thinking and
instead try to boost the morale of the cadres who are fighting
the enemy valiantly in the field."
The ULFA-I asked its members to re-strengthen
the outfit. The outfit fears that certain members are still in
close nexus with the security forces and constantly working to
make dents in the outfit adds the report. At least eight ULFA-I
cadres, including its 'commander' Partha Gogoi, were executed
on the instructions of the ULFA-I's 'commander-in-chief', Paresh
Baruah, for 'conspiring with Police and Security Forces to engineer
a mass surrender of cadres in the last four months.

severe financial crunch, which has made the outfit desperate to
indulge in acts of violence to make its presence felt. Security
sources said that the militant outfit is finding it difficult
even to run its camps in Myanmar due to paucity of funds. There

to make payments for procuring rice. In the face of threats of
rebellion from the cadres, the leaders of the ULFA-I are desperate
