SFs arrested a militant belonging to AANLA, Amar Singh Karmakar alias Amar Gogoi (29), from Deberapara area of Mariani in Jorhat District. The arrested militant was giving extortion threats to ONGC's gas gathering station number 1 located at Khorghat area, along the Assam-Nagaland border, under Uriamghat Police Station in Golaghat District.

March 5 Sonitpur

SFs arrested two Ceasefire Unit of AANLA militants, John Terkey (16) and Ajit Khozur (18), from Dhekiajuli in Sonitpur District. AANLA militants had served extortion demand to a contractor Laxman Pachuwan who was involved in construction work at Don Bosco School located in Dhekiajuli. SFs also recovered demand note of AANLA (Cease fire), two mobile phones and one SIM card from the arrested duo.

A businessman identified as Naba Sarma and his employee identified as Sandu Newar were abducted from their residence at Maujuli in Sonitpur District by suspected AANLA militants. Local people stated that Naba Sarma had received an extortion note and he was abducted because he did not pay up.
