A statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said “As Quick Reaction Force cordoned the area, militants opened fire to flee. According to the First Information Report (FIR) filed at the CTD Police station, 10 to 12 alleged militants entered Pakistan from Afghanistan to carry out attacks in Peshawar, Charsadda, Mohmand and Malakand areas. The CTD after getting intelligence report about the presence of the alleged militants launched an operation, officials said. The alleged militants instead of surrendering opened fire at the law enforcement personnel. CTD officials retaliated firing in which five alleged militants were killed, the FIR added. The rest of the alleged militants managed to escape in the cover of darkness. Three suicide jackets, three submachine guns, two pistols, two hand grenades and walkie-talkie set were recovered from the possession of slain militants. At least five suspected militants of the Balochistan Republican Army (BRA) were killed during an intelligence-based operation (IBO) jointly conducted by the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) and Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) near Arbi Tibba road in Rojhan area of Rajanpur District in Punjab, reports Pakistan Today. The CTD Spokesperson said security officials raided the hideout and asked the terrorists to surrender. However, instead of surrendering, they started firing at the security personnel indiscriminately. The raiding party took precautionary measures and a shootout ensued. When the firing stopped, five terrorists were found dead by the firing of their own accomplices, Spokesperson added. The killed militants were identified as Ghulam Hussain, Master Ali, Ramzan, Dost Muhammad and Atta Muhammad. Three suspects managed to escape on motorcycles under the cover of darkness. An Improvised Explosive Device (IED), 4kg explosive material, 50ft of prima cord (detonating cord) and four detonators that were found at the site along with a large cache of arms and ammunition, that included three sub-machine guns and two .30 calibre pistols. The Baloch Raji Ajoi Sangar (BRAS) claimed the responsibility for the attack later on July 9. BRAS is an alliance of four Baloch militant outfits-- Balochistan Liberation Front (BLF), Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA), Balochistan Republican Army (BRA) and Baloch Republican Guard (BRG). Baloch Khan, a spokesman for the BRAS issued a statement saying, “BRAS fighters targeted a convoy of five Frontier Corps vehicles, on July 7 at Nahing Kaor in the Zamran area of Kech District as they were heading to ‘Narom’ military camp. The attack completely destroyed two army vehicles, killing five soldiers on the spot and injuring several others. Militants had arrived at the PSX compound in a sedan and attempted to enter it from the parking ground side. The blast took place when Quran class was ongoing in madrassah which is located inside a mosque. Children and instructors are among the victims. Those killed and injured students were aged between nine and 15 years. City Superintendent of Police (SP) Waqar Azeem said "a person, who has yet to be identified, came to the madrassah at around 8am, kept a bag there, and left. There were explosives in the bag". There were at least 40 to 50 people present at the site when the explosion occurred, he added.

Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said that 10 other militants were arrested. Wasim Zakaria hailed from the Haider Khel area and since September 2019, had been a mastermind of 30 terrorist attacks. “Terrorist Wasim was involved in target killing activities and the martyrdom of CSS officer Zubaidullah Dawar,” said the ISPR in a statement, adding that the militant was also directly involved in attacks on security forces (SFs).
