Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) claimed responsibility for the attack, adds The Balochistan Post. Jeeyand Baloch, the BLA ‘spokesperson’, in a media statement issued after the attack alleged that Pakistani forces are settling people from outside Balochistan to use them as informants against Baloch national struggle. “The so-called death squads have also been formed to counter the Baloch movement. These groups are involved in abduction and murder of Baloch people including women and children. These squads are on our target and will be made an example for others,” Jeeyand Baloch added.

Assailants had planted an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) in a motorbike near Khatan Chowk, which went off when a pickup carrying labourers of the private company from Khuzdar to Naal reached the Chowk, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), Khuzdar, Tariq Khan Khilji said, adding, that four labourers were injured in the blast.The injured were identified as Shamsur Rehman, Noorullah, Rehmatullah and Qasid belonging to Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. One Army personal and a passer-by were killed when Balochistan Liberation Front (BLF) militants targeted an Army check-post in Salala Bazar of Turbat city in Kech District of Balochistan on March 28, reports The Balochistan Post. BLF claimed the responsibility of the attack. BLF’s ‘spokesperson’ Major Gorham Baloch said in a statement: “last night BLF fighters targeted a check-post of Pakistani forces with a hand grenade at Shaheed Yahya junction. A Pakistani military personal died in the attack. While, a passer-by named Tayyab son of Barkat, resident of Panjgur was also wounded during in attack. However, no loss of human life was reported in the explosion which smashed windowpanes of shops and buildings. However, five people were injured in a similar grenade attack at a small shop where the national flags were hoisted in the Eastern Bypass area in the night. The motorcyclists escaped after lobbing grenades. One of the injured, identified as Amanullah (27), later succumbed to his injuries at hospital. Two passers-by were killed and three security personnel injured in a bomb blast in the Cheetkan Bazaar area of Panjgur District in Balochistan on October 31, reports Dawn. Police said unidentified persons parked an explosive-laden motorbike in the Cheetkan Bazaar area which was detonated by remote control when a Frontier Corps (FC) vehicle reached there. The dead civilians were identified as Abdul Quyyam and Noorullah. A Police officer said around three kilogrammes of explosives were used in the blast.

A prominent political leader and tribal elder of Awaran District, Mir Akram Sajidi, was killed and two other people were injured in a bomb blast in the industrial town of Hub in Lasbela District of Balochistan in the night of November 1, reports Dawn. Police said that Mir Akram Sajidi was traveling in his car along with two other persons on the Quetta-Karachi national highway when a powerful blast occurred in the car. “Akram Sajidi received multiple injuries and died on the spot,” District Police Officer Tariq Mastoi said. The injured were identified as Abdul Karim Sajidi, a retired employee of the Quetta Electric Supply Company, and Mohammad Rafiq Sajidi. They both hailed from Awaran District.

At least four people have been killed and 15 injured in an explosion near the Science College at Jinnah Road in Quetta, the provincial capital of Balochistan, on December 30, reports The Nation. According to the Police, the explosion took place near a vehicle near Saleem Complex close to Science College. The nearby buildings were also damaged as a result of the blast. Director General of Police (DGP) Syed Fida Hussain Shah said that 2.5 kilogrammes of explosives were planted on a pole near the site of the blast. An event organised by the Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI) was underway, and as soon as it ended, the explosion took place near the gate of the venue.
