Bengali militants were alleged to have been involved in this blast. One person was killed and five others injured in the attack. The administration has issued shoot at sight orders in the riot affected areas. Tripura has been marked by violence connected with the elections to Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC) election, slated for April 30 and May 3. A tribal insurgent group National Liberation Front of Tripura (NLFT) has unleashed a violent campaign in favour of the Indigenous Peoples Front of Tripura (IPFT), a political front contesting the local elections. The NLFT has been involved in a wave of abductions and intimidation attempts on candidates of other parties. As part of the violent campaign, NLFT militants killed two persons at Manu, Dhalai district on April 11. Two persons were injured in this attack.
