A team of Police led by Mulugu Sub-Inspector (SI), Harikrishna, unearthed an arms’ dump allegedly belonging to the Communist Party of India-Maoist (CPI-Maoist) at Mansingh Thanda in Mulugu District of Telangana on April 3, reports Telangana Today. The Police have found a total of 312 live rounds of ammunition, two detonators, and documents relating to the outlawed Maoist party. Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP), Potharaju Sai Chaitanya said that a team of Police including Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS) members, two revenue officials, and a photographer had searched for a dump at Mansingh Thanda at his instructions upon receiving reliable information that there was a hidden dump of CPI Maoists in the Podu lands around Mansingh Thanda village in Mulugu Mandal (administrative sub-division). “When the team thoroughly examined the lands, they came across a suspicious spot. They have dug up the soil for about 1.5 metre deep into the ground and found a black cover in it. Immediately, they examined the bag and found ammunition and other material,” he said. He added that the CPI Maoist Telangana State Committee seems to have conspired to establish anti-government committees in the villages again to assert their existence. “It is an attempt by the Maoists to revive the CPI-Maoist party by killing the people’s representatives, policemen and vandalising the public property,” he added.

A bunch of the posters allegedly left by the Communist Party of India-Maoist (CPI-Maoist) were found by the villagers at Bodhapuram in Venkatapuram (Nuguru) Mandal (administrative sub-division) in Mulugu District of Telangana on July 20, reports Telangana Today. The Maoists have appealed to the people to observe ‘martyrs’ memorial week’ from July 28 to August 3 in a big way. The posters issued in the name of Telangana State Committee of Maoist party, urged the party cadre to defeat the ‘Operation Prahar’ onslaught launched by the Government. In the posters, the Maoists have also made a scathing attack on both the State and Central Governments and alleged that the Governments had failed to check the spread of the COVID-19 that claimed the lives of lakhs of people in the country. It is alleged that the Police had killed Maoist leaders Gangal and Gaddam Madhukar alias Shobroy by not providing the treatment to them though they assured to provide treatment for the Covid-19 to the surrendered Maoists. The CPI-Maoist also found fault with the State Government for its attempt to recruit 20,000 Police constables. “The TRS government has been resorting to fake encounters,” the Maoist party Telangana Committee alleged. It also condemned the arrest of intellectuals, rights activists and others in the name of Naxalites [Left Wing Extremists, LWEs].

Even as Bhadradri Kothagudem District Police accuse Communist Party of India-Maoist (CPI-Maoist) cadres of keeping 15 persons from Cherla Mandal (administrative sub-division) in Bhadradri Kothagudem in their captivity in Chhattisgarh, the Maoists have allegedly warned villagers of dire consequences for being ‘police informers’ in Mulugu District of Telangana, reports The Times of India on December 10. A pamphlet, allegedly left by CPI-Maoist between Kondapur-Allubhaka villages, was recovered by locals and passed on to District Police. It accused Police of luring villagers through different means to weaken CPI-Maoist. In the pamphlet, they named five persons, including women, belonging to Bollaram, Sitarampur and Kalipaka villages and accused them of being ‘police informers’. The Maoists also accused Police of luring the villagers to share information about their movement or new persons coming to their villages. “By making phone calls or through WhatsApp, information is being shared with police by some villagers,” CPI Maoist Venkatapuram-Vajedu area committee said in the pamphlet.

Want to stay in the dark for a while longer? Why are the roads not paved for our woods? Water Jungle Land for You. For Us? Why are bombs in the woods not letting us turn around?
