Unidentified assailants
shot and killed a Supreme
Court judge, Rana Bahadur
Bam, as he headed to work
at Lalitpur District of
Kathmandu, on May 31, reports
New York Times. The
judge had been accused of
taking bribes from suspects
in 2010 in exchange for
light sentences. The Judiciary
Council was investigating
him. The bodyguard and a
passenger accompanying the
judge in the car were also
wounded in the attack. Meanwhile,
Dawn quoting Kathmandu
Police spokesperson Rabi
Raj Shrestha said that a
previously unknown group
calling itself the Nepal
Vad Party leaflet was found
at the the scene of crime.
