RPF claimed that two troopers
of AR were killed in a bomb attack as a part of "Operation Jackal
" launched by its armed wing, PLA on December 31, 2013. State
Police have received report of explosion of two IEDs simultaneously
on the road leading to Kotha in Chandel District, the area of
occurrence as claimed by RPF's 'publicity secretary' Roben Khuman
dispatched to the media in Imphal. However, Police have no report
of any casualty. They said that the IEDs were triggered in the
evening around 4 p.m. while troops of 24 AR based at Kotha village
were on routine patrol duty.

AR in coordination with Police forces of Manipur
killed three militants, arrested 40 UG cadres and three OGW and
recovered huge quantity of arms and ammunition in last 45 days
in the state, an AR release said. During the counter insurgency
operation, from August 1 to September 15 last, three cadre of
PLA were killed, the AR release said. Seven cadres of UNLF, seven
cadres of NSCN-K, five cadres of PREPAK-Pro, six cadres of PREPAK,
four cadres of PLA, eight cadres of KYKL, one cadre of ZUF, one
cadre of KCP, one cadre of Vice-Chairman faction of PREPAK (PREPAK-VC)
and three 'overground' cadres of UNLF, PREPAK and KYKL each were
arrested, the release added. The release further said arms and
ammunition including one AK-47 rifle, two 7.62 mm A-1 Rifle, one
9 mm carbine machine gun, four 9 mm pistol, one lathod gun with
three lathod shells, one country made 12 bore single barrel rifle,
8 IEDs, two Chinese hand grenades and other assorted ammunition
were recovered.

A cadre of the RPF/PLA identified as Cpl, Sanasam
Ojit Singh alias Thomson (30) was arrested by troops of
the 22 AR of 28 Sector AR under the aegis of headquarters of IGAR-S

to the AR, the cadre was "in the area to carry out prejudicial
activities as per the orders from Commanders of PLA/RPF from Myanmar."

Troops of AR under the aegis of headquarters of
IGAR-S along with State Police forces launched various Counter
Insurgency operations in different parts of Manipur and arrested
four UG cadres including two cadres of UNLF and one each of PLA
and NSCN-K. In first operation, troops of the 2 AR of 9 Sector
AR under the aegis of headquarters of IGAR-S along with Thoubal
Police commandos launched a joint operation in Charangpat area
in Thoubal District and arrested one PLA cadre, identified as
No 1808, SS Sgt Kangabam Ibomcha alias Rajesh Meitei (33)
of Jiribam Dibong Khunou. He revealed that he had undergone training
near Churachandpur and presently he is working under Deputy Bureau
Secretary in-Charge SS Lt Col Jibon of PLA and was instructed
by him to organise recruitment of youth for PLA and improving
Public Relationship for the outfit PLA with the local Meira
Paibis and frontal organisations. He also revealed that he
came from Myanmar to carry out recruitment for PLA and also to
monitor movement of security forces.

at Bishnupur bazar in Bishnupur District. According to a statement

Troops of 2 AR of 9 Sector AR under the aegis
of headquarters of IGAR-S along with Thoubal Police commandos
launched a joint operation at Wangjing market and arrested a PLA
cadre, identified as Nongmaithem Naocha Singh (26) of Heirok Part-III.
Nongmaithem revealed that he is working under one Manimohon of
PLA, said a press release issued by PRO of headquarters of IGAR-S.
In a follow-up operation, another PLA cadre, identified as Phuritsabam
Manimohon Meitei (43) of Salungpham Kangthokchao Maning Leikai,
was arrested by the same SF team from Salungpham Makha Leikai
the same day. Phuritsabam said that he has been working under
the command of 'sergeant' Thouba of PLA, added the press release.

A JCO of AR was killed and an unspecified number
of the personnel were injured in an ambush by suspected PLA at
the Indo-Myanmar border in Manipur's Ukhrul District. Police sources
said the ambush took place at Khokai village where the AR was
on patrol duty. The suspected militants first detonated two IEDs
and when the 44 AR personnel rushed to the spot, attacked them
with sophisticated weapons. The JCO, whose identity is yet to
be disclosed by AR, died on the spot. Police said the details
were yet to be known as Khokai is a remote village from the Kamjong
sub-division headquarters.

RPF claimed causing casualty to India SF in an
attack by its armed PLA cadres. On December 17, a column of 21
AR was under attack by armed militants in Chandel District. The
attack took place between Ishi and Khumulian villages under Chakpikarong
Police Station was performed by cadres of PLA using grenade launchers,
RPG etc., a statement of the RPF dispatched to the media claimed.
Casualties were inflicted to the Indian occupational force, it
added. Cadres of 252 Mobile Battalion of the PLA performed the
attack which the strategy was prepared by 'Chief of Army Staff'
of the outfit, the statement said that extended gratitude to the
cadres involved in the attack. The attack was part of RPF's campaign
against the torture being meted out by the Indian SF towards the
innocent people of the area, it added.
