Four persons who were abducted by suspected KNF-N militants were released at Koirengei in Imphal West District. All the four persons were abducted from a work site from Singda in Senapati District. Sources said they were asked to pay INR 10 million.

The KNF-N is all set to boycott the Republic Day (January 26) celebration of 2014 in five hill Districts of the state. KNF-N said their boycotting of the Repubic Day will be done "separately of our own excluding the CorCom (conglomerate of Manipur valley based militant outfits) or the collective bandh called by North East insurgent groups

One suspected KNF cadre was arrested along with arm and ammunitions by 43 Assam Rifles on January 25 from Buning Village in Tamenglong District. A source identified as one Mangkho Sitlhou alias Casper, a 'sergeant major' of KNF.

'President' of the KNF-N, Napoleon, has denied the outfit's involvement in the various abductions in the State over the past few months. The clarification came in even as people of Charhajar, Sadar Hills staged a sit-in-protest on February 2 demanding the safe release of a man who was allegedly abducted on the midnight of January 31.

The UNC has asked the abductors of Island Tangkhul village secretary Mathotmi Chahong at the earliest to avoid any undesired consequences. 45-year-old Mathotmi Chahong has been abducted by armed men suspected to be KNF-N militants, from his home.

A bullet riddled body suspected to be that of a cadre of KNF-P faction was on retrieved by the Police from Leingangpokpi village in Senapati. The body was found blind folded with both hands tied with a rope, Police said.

KNF-N, categorically stated it would keep a 'strict vigil' on implementation of PMGSY works as well as other development programmes taken up by the State and Central Governments, in their area. KNF-N 'publicity secretary' Gogou Vaiphei saying that they have no intention to disturb development activities, explained that they have been constrained to 'monitor' all kinds of development works because of the dubious nature of implementing development programmes by firms/agencies or contractors.

SFs launched a joint operation at Tabungkhok in Imphal West District, and arrested one cadre belonging to KNF-Z, identified as '2nd Lieutenant' Thangareng. A 9mm pistol with magazine, three live rounds of 9mm and INR 5,510 were recovered from his possession.

A cadre of KNF-Samuel faction identified as Lulun Haokip was attacked and injured at near Tribal Museum at Thangzam Road in Lamka area of Churachandpur District of Manipur.

KNF-N observed its 26th raising day, a day before the actual date due to certain security reason at the outfit's Daitwi camp general head-quarters along Indo-Myanmar border. A message from its 'President', Napolean Kremlin, was read out in which it called upon all Kukis and its organization's to unite. He further called upon all organisations to join hands and achieve a common political goal under the Constitution of India. The occasion was followed by the oath taking ceremony of 20 new cadres, who had completed their basic military training bringing the total strength of KNF-N to 150.

KNF-Z informed that it has not authorised an individual named Seilal alias Tony Haokip to collect fund for the outfit. The outfit cautioned not to extend cooperation to the individual.

KNA information and publicity secretary LH Stephen' stated that KRA, which is under SoO has opened a new 'army head quarters' called Tintong 'battalion' at Veitum Kholen, New Keithelmanbi in Imphal West District under command of 'sergeant major' Ronald Haokip ON October 8. He also added that the new 'army headquarters' has 11 automatic rifles.

Police rescued two labourers identified as Thokchom Kanta Singh and Haobijam Jackson Singh from Molnom Village in Sadar Hills. They were held for a ransom of INR one Billion. The rescue happened after Police arrested active militants of KNF-N Jangkhohen Kipgen alias Jangpu , Saikul PS and another individual identified as Paolenmang Kipgen from Andro parking in Imphal East District .Investigation also revealed that they had came to Andro parking for negotiation of ransom amount for two kidnapped labours.
